ORLANDO

Jansten at The Geek, Winter Park

Jansten made an appearance at The Geek for Bassnight in Winter Park just a few minutes from downtown Orlando. Jansten is a Boulder, CO electronic musician known for his collaborations with Bassnectar. He brought out every basshead in central Florida! The night was opened by DJ Rottin, Cosmic Anarchy b2b Rest in Pierce, and Play the Line celebrating his 21st birthday. Gorilla Productions supplied the massive audio / visual experience and The Geek kept plenty of craft beer and sandwiches flowing all night.

Key West Fest @ UCF

Gorilla Productions also provided sound and light for Kill the Noise at Key West Fest, UCF’s largest outdoor festival. The festival was in benefit of the military heroes campaign:

M.K. & Solardo at Celine Orlando

Internationally recognized house DJ/producer Marc Kinchen (M.K.) appeared at Celine Orlando courtesy of Team Market Group & Alliance Events and Nightlife. His  extended playlist that night gifted us two listens to MK’s chart-topping hit “17” – complete with a shower of confetti and plenty of cheers (video here).  MK’s Family Affair also featured a set by 1/2 of tech house duo Solardo. Celine Orlando is a top notch venue featuring two indoor levels and an outdoor rooftop patio with live music. All-around this was a classy event with superior sound, lighting and plenty of beautiful people.

Mystic Grizzly at The Pearl

Dub artist Mystic Grizzly made an appearance at The Pearl with London/Jacksonville selector DJ Love Lee providing the tech house sounds in addition. Rachael Lauraine also DJed the evening. The event was brought to town by J Dog Productions which is has a few more upcoming Orlando events (view here). As you can see from AJ Hege’s coverage below, downtown was the place to be on St. Patrick’s Day, unless you were stuck in the traffic jam (with me lol):

Music Releases: The 502s & Ashley J

The 502s released their brand-new single “What to Do” ahead of their show at Stringbreak Music Fest. The catchy indie folk / americana song music written by Edward Isola, Jonathan Ruiz, and Jacob Isola;
produced by Matthew Tonner and recorded / mixed by William Snyder at WJSP Studios in Altamonte Springs, FL. Listen below:

Ashley J, a rising, chart-topping dance pop sensation debuted her EP Satisfied. Ashley’s infectious hooks laid over highly danceable production make for a commendable first project. On the title track “Satisfied,” Ashley worked with the multi-platinum, Grammy & Emmy-winning Narada Michael Walde, who called Ashley “a real American sweetheart with a big voice and lots of energy!” We’d have to agree completely. “Unbreakable” is one of my personal favorites – relatable, catchy and upbeat.
