Future Rock is one of our favorite acts discovered at Suwannee Hulaween 2014 and we’ve been following the progress ever since. The Chicago-based trio has released its fifth full length album and it more than exceeds expectations. Upbeat and highly dance-able, this latest effort from Future Rock has fine-tuned & matured the band’s synthesized electronic rock sound even further, creating an infectious listen with standout tracks like “Long Ago,” “Go With It,” and “A Better Way.” “Pathfinder” is a personal pick for me, however with each replay there are new discoveries worthy of repeating.
Often compared to Daft Punk, DFA, and The Chemical Brothers, Future Rock has molded their own distinguishable identity with “Long Ago,” and the cross-over appeal of this album is easily recognizable. It’s a perfect blend of modern trend and underground edge.
The band enlisted producer/singer Tibaut Bowman (who fronts Auto Body with Future Rock’s Felix Moreno and creates futuristic house as Thibault) as their producer, and welcomed him into the creative process. The trio also collaborated on four tracks with gifted singer-songwriter Anna Soltys, who provides the songs with melodic gems.
