The Sing Out Loud Music Festival returns to St. Augustine in September. Presented by Community First Credit Union and produced by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, this free festival will take place over three weekends. Engulf yourself in the culture of this beautiful city, while enjoying your favorite artists at music venues across St. Augustine.
Nine days, 15 venues, 50 showcases, over 200 performing artists. All free and open to the public. This is the Sing Out Loud Festival, the largest free music festival ever held in North Florida. The official Sing Out Loud schedule is now available, detailing the epic celebration of live entertainment that will take place throughout St. Augustine, Florida for three weekends this September. In a convergence of musical genres as wide ranging as Texas Outlaw Country, New Orleans Brass and Funk, Alternative Indie Rock, Americana, Bluegrass, Neo-Soul, Folk, Punk, Hip Hop, Spoken Word, Comedy, Electronic and more, the Sing Out Loud Music Festival, now in its second year, has expanded to include over 200 national, local and regional acts playing 50 showcases at 15 St. Augustine venues during September 8 – 10, 15 -17 and 22 – 24.
The free, multi-day, multi-venue festival features national acts including Steve Earle & the Dukes, Lake Street Dive, Wolf Parade, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Los Lobos and more in addition to a massive regional and local lineup. New to the Festival this year is a Poetry Showcase hosted by 100 Thousands Poets for Change, a Kid’s Matinee with live entertainment and activities for the kids and two showcases staged at St. Paul Park in the historic Lincolnville Neighborhood on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue between Park Place and DeHaven Street. The Narrow Magazine, Comedy and Gamble Rogers showcases will return this year as well as showcases dedicated to Americana, blues, reggae, hip hop, punk and more.
“The Festival represents an intersection of live entertainment and community,” explains Ryan Murphy, director of the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division and coordinator of the Sing Out Loud Festival. “It is very exciting to provide this massive free music festival to the community; one that features such a high profile and eclectic lineup and shines a light on St. Augustine’s vibrant performance scene.”
A Sing Out Loud Festival Guidebook will be produced and available to the public the week of August 28 at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and in the Folio Weekly. The free official Sing Out Loud Festival app (for iPhone and Android) will also be available for download the last week of August.
