The late night lineup at Purple Hatter’s Ball is always stacked with energetic entertainment to keep you tuned in ’til sunrise. Because who is ever ready for last call?!? Here is a preview of what’s in store for this year’s silent disco taking place Friday, June 17th and Saturday, June 18th immediately following the festival headliners. Cuddlefish: – Friday 2am, Channel 1
Known for his midtempo psychedelic production, CuddleFish weaves a seamless journey of glitchy bass and beautiful melodies that is just as easy to meditate to as it is to get wild on the dance floor. He has shared the stage with many legends including Govinda, Desert Dwellers, Shpongle, The Floozies, Thriftworks, TurboSuit, Freddy Todd, Kalya Scintilla, GRiZ & Haywyre.
Ancient Deep – Friday 2am, Channel 2
Ancient Deep consists of Little Bill (DJ) and Dorian the Percussionist. This DJ/percussion duo specializes in dance music of all genres and all decades. By playing their own remixes, originals and edits, Ancient Deep brings a unique experience to any event. They’ve got the soul!
Elliot Mess – Friday, 3am: Channel 1
Denver, Colorado’s Elliot Mess will be representing for Footwork and Juke music/dance in the Mile High City.
BIG BUCK$ CREW – Friday 3am, Channel 2
Jacksonville, Florida’s BIG BUCK$ CREW offers up an eclectic mix of Hip Hop, Rap, Funk, Soul, Reggae, Crunk, Classics, EDM, and sometimes a little Punk Rock. It’s going to get ratchet on the Buck$ channel, and we’re going to like it.
Combustible – Friday 4am, Channel 1
For the last 15 years Jacksonville, Florida native Combustible has been selecting the best in broken beats with his current focus on dubstep and drum n’ bass. His PHB set is sure to set things on fire.
Cat Party – Friday 4am, Channel 2
Combining funk, disco, and electronica, Cat Party is the radioactive alter ego of Nick Melillo. He has shared the stage with Manic Focus, Michal Menert & The Pretty Fantastics, MZG, Archnemesis, The Malah and many more. Just as his name suggests, Nick will be delivering a future funky electric soul party. Rawr!
Paten Locke – Saturday 2am, Channel 1
Duval Hip Hop juggernaut Paten Locke will be serving up a healthy portion of raw beats with an abundant side of funk. When it comes to classic hip hop, Paten has the recipe for moving your feet. And hopefully he’ll sprinkle in a some cuts off his side project, Full Plate.
LeGinge – Saturday 2am, Channel 2
I will be playing a medley of music ive been producing for various songwriters/rappers a couple new club tracks I made and my favorite jersey club and house/electronic music. Hiphop/electronic/bass music in general
LeGinge is a hip hop influenced producer from St. Augustine who knows his trap and future bass. We expect a general medley of his favorite electronic selections. We also highly recommend taking a listen to his superb remixes and edits on Soundcloud.
SkyHye – Saturday 3am, Channel 1
SkyHye is a bass collective comprised of 3 producers: Kevin Velarde (residing in Florida), Luis Amparo (residing in Colorado), and Atilla Bayrambas (residing in the Netherlands). On behalf of the SkyHye team, Kevin Velarde will be representing with a Silent Disco set of unreleased tracks, comprised of heavy bass and tribal influenced records that will specifically compliment the magic of Suwannee at night.
Taste Tester – Saturday 3am, Channel 2
Damballa – Saturday 4am: Channel 1
Comprised of Hookz and DJsquared, Damballa is a high energy bass music duo from Jacksonville, Florida delivering a unique blend of glitch hop, dubstep, trap, and future bass. Damballa’s Northeast Florida following is quickly rising and their resume includes a wide range of club nights, house parties and festivals such as Suwannee Reunion and The Roosevelt Collier Getdown #1.
Vlad the Inhaler – Saturday 4am, Channel 2
Closing out the disco will be Vlad the Inhaler – that Crunchay dude from Duval. Vlad is a longtime curator of the silent disco, as well creator of the Reunion: Campout Concert Series. If there’s anyone who knows what we want late night music-wise at SOSMP, it’s Vlad!
