A grand gala cloaked in the color of royalty, Purple Hatter’s Ball 2016 was abundant in whimsical dance, beachside laughter and endless summer nights. With a soundtrack provided by DubConscious, The Floozies, The Polish Ambassador, Papadosio, Earphunk, The Malah, The Hip Abduction, SunSquabi, Bedside, and many more favorites, PHB ‘16 was an unforgettable masterpiece.
For the ninth year in a row, PHB has brought us together for this most purposeful celebration – remembering the late Rachel Morningstar Hoffman and honoring the dedication her family & friends put into protecting us all from injustice. You can read more about the Rachel Morningstar Foundation.
Rachel’s spirit will forever be alive in the ancient Suwannee oaks. She is the wild wind on our faces, flushing our cheeks with exhilaration. She is the river flowing freely. She is the music that never quiets. She is apart of us all now. Thank you for sharing such a lasting gift for so many years.
Interestingly, in numerology the spiritual meaning of number Nine represents Universal love, eternity, faith, success, enlightenment & awakening, optimism, Divine wisdom and completeness. The energy of number Nine works for the greater good of all, without motive other than achieving what is right.
On this ninth year of gathering in Rachel’s name, we hope all you Hatter’s have come one step closer to attaining your dreams, of knowing who you are and that you are right where you should be – getting funky under those trees in that special place we call home.

About The Rachel Morningstar Foundation: The Rachel Morningstar Foundation exists to help the public understand the benefit of guidelines for law enforcement’s use of confidential informants (CIs). Currently each state, county, city, college campus or law enforcement agency sets their own standards, laws or guidelines as it relates to recruiting and using CIs. The efforts of this foundation are dedicated to the memory of Rachel Morningstar Hoffman (December 17, 1984 – May 7, 2008) a 23-year-old Florida State University graduate. She was murdered while acting as a police informant during a drug sting that started on May 7, 2008. The first of its kind in the U.S., Rachel’s Law, a Florida law that went into effect on July 1, 2009, established new guidelines for law enforcement when dealing with confidential informants.
