After months of anticipation, the Jacksonville music scene rallied at 1904 Music Hall last Wednesday for the funkified fusion of electric blues and experimental jams generated by The Main Squeeze. The group, fresh on their U.S. tour, delivered the juicy grooves the city has been craving.

Full of zest, the music never lost the crowd’s attention with fan favorites “I’ll Take Another”, “Get at Me”, “Sweat” and “#WWC”. “I’ll Take Another” flowed into a blues jam echoing the sounds of “Midnight in Harlem” with guitar and keyboard instrumentals. The crowd also enjoyed the reminiscent notes of Nas and Lauryn Hill’s original “If I ruled the World” just days after the pair’s performance at Jacksonville’s new Daily’s Place Amphitheater.

After the show the guys stuck around showing off the down-to-earth nature of their Mid-West roots by chatting it up with fans. It’s safe to say the Main Squeeze’s original sounds are welcomed back to Jacksonville anytime. The group finishes off their tour with a sold-out Jam Cruise this upcoming January 2018.
